Jolivette’s Links

1. Jolivette worked for the Founder and President of The Algebra Project,
Rober 'Bob' Moses from 1999 to 2002 in Jackson, Mississippi.  Bob Moses is
also well known for his role in the Mississippi Civil Rights Movement and
his work to help teach literacy so that Black people could pass the literacy
test so the could register to vote.  The Algebra Project is a national
organization that teaches and promotes math literacy to urban and rural
youth.  For more information about The Algebra Project or to make a donation
to help continue the work of the AP, please visit www.algebra.org.

 2.  Jolivette was the 'swing shift Disc Jockey for The Reggae Jam
Session founded by Colin O'Brien aka Mr. C- Lecta on WMPR 90.1 FM in Jackson,
MS.  WMPR is run by it's general manager, Charles Evers, brother to the
slain Civil Rights leader, Medgar Evers.  While reggae was played over the
airwaves before Mr. C- Lecta came aboard, no one educated audiences about the
various genres of Reggae the way Mr. C- Lecta did.  He took Reggae music out
of the stone ages in Mississippi.  Before Mr. C- Lecta, listerners only knew
of Bob Marley and Burning Spear and a few others, now listerners know of
hundreds of Reggae artists and tune in to hear not only Roots but Dancehall,
Lover's Rock and even Gospel Reggae. Jolivette worked with the Reggae Jam
Session for 4 years on the airwaves and still does promotions work. Tune in
on the weekends from Midnight forward to www.wmpr901.com.

 3.  Jolivette is a founding member of the Deep South Caribbean
Collective, a group that consist of a Travel Agent, Jamaican Chef, Reggae
DJ, two Graphic Designers, an English Professor and a poet.  Together this

Ocho Rios, Jamaica.  After the loss of the one of the parents of 3 members
of the group in the same year the momentum slowed down to give everyone time
to grieve and heal from our collective loss.  Soon the group will begin to
plan more fun filled edutainment for all. Visit www.chefgodfrey.com to learn
